The Virtueist Decalogue

The Virtueist Decalogue: 10 Daily Maxims
  1. Check the Gate: When an impulse arises, ask: "Is this from the Animal (ego) or the Word (Love)?" Do not give assent to the roar of the flesh.
  2. Die to the Script: You do not own the day’s events. Let go of how things "should" go and feast on how they are—for God is in the "is."
  3. The Second Mile: If the world asks for fairness, give Radical Love. If the animal mind calculates a cost, the Virtueist doubles the gift.
  4. Silence the Lawyer: Do not defend your reputation. If you are wronged, the "inner citadel" remains unharmed; if you are right, God already knows.
  5. Fast from Praise: Perform one act of excellence today that no one sees. The "good feeling" of God’s private smile is the only valid currency.
  6. The Courageous "Even If": When fear says "What if I lose?", the Spirit says "Even if I do, I stand with the Logos." Fear is an impression; Truth is a rock.
  7. Sober Speech: Speak only if it improves upon silence. Fast from the animal urge to complain, brag, or gossip.
  8. Steward, Not Owner: Look at your comforts—home, health, money—and say: "These are on loan for the service of others." Hold them loosely; love the Giver more.
  9. The Wisdom Pause: Between the stimulus and the response, there is a space. In that space, find the Word. Never react; always respond from the center.
  10. Lose to Gain: At the end of the day, audit your "mini-deaths." Where did the ego shrink so the Spirit could grow? That is your only true profit.

The Practice of the "Pocket Code"
Carry these not as rules to be "obeyed," but as logoi (living reasons) to be inhabited. When you feel the "heat" of an animal impulse—anger, anxiety, or greed—read the corresponding maxim. It is the rational sword that cuts the thread of the impulse before it becomes an action.
